ÇEKÜL Vakfı Arapgir Temsilcisi ve Arapgir Kültür Derneği Şube Başkanı A.Tuncay Çağdaş, Kemaliye başta olmak üzere Arapgir, Divriği ve Ağın ilçelerini etkileyecek maden arama ve çıkartma faaliyetini, Arapgir Postası Gazetesindeki köşesine taşıdı. Kentlilerin gündeminde öncelikli olarak yer alan maden arama çalışmalarının kültürel ve tarihi mirası, endemik bitki örtüsü ve doğal güzellikleriyle ulusal ve uluslararası turizm hareketinin yoğunluğuyla Yukarı Fırat Havzasının dikkat çeken kenti Kemaliye’ye etkisinin olumsuz yönde olacağına dikkat çeken A. Tuncay Çağdaş, kentlilerin kaygılarını dile getirdi. Çağdaş, Kemaliye’yi ve Kemaliye özelinde Yukarı Fırat Havzasının doğal ve kültürel mirasının, maden arama çalışmalarıyla “Görsel, akustik, atmosferik, jeoteknik, hidrojeolojik, tarımsal, kültürel, sosyolojik ve alt yapı üzerine olarak özetlenebilen kısa süreli-uzun süreli, olumlu-olumsuz, onarılabilir-onarılamaz, dolaylı-dolaysız çevresel etkilere” maruz kalacağının altını çizdi: “Bu etkiler yerel, bölgesel olabildiği gibi bazen sınır aşırı boyutlara ulaşabilmektedir. Madencilik faaliyetlerinin etkileri, önlem alınmadığı takdirde, işletmeler kapatılıp terk edildikten sonra bile devam edebilmektedir. Üretim yöntemi olarak hangi yöntem uygulanırsa uygulansın hem işletme hem de işletme sonrası çevre kirliliğine neden olmaktadır. Eğer maden, yerleşim alanına yakınsa bu etkiler daha da vahim olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Madencilik endüstrisinin istatiksel olarak yeryüzündeki en çok çevresel yıkıcı etkisi olan endüstri olduğu kanıtlanmıştır. Madencilik endüstrisi uzun süreli olarak toprağa, havaya, suya ve habitata zarar verdiği için ekolojik bir yıkımdır.” A. Tuncay Çağday, “Kemaliye’nin üstü, altından daha değerlidir!” dedi.

CORRECTION! Fritillaria bithynica (not mughlae). Endemic. We thought we had no luck on April 9th in Yerkesik, Muğla.There were only village homes, orchards, and herds of sheep. I and @gokikoki
decided make one more push through the prickly bush and climbed over a very old stone wall, which isolated a small garden of Frits and Orchids.
